Mission Statement
The mission of the Shell Lake Arts Center is to provide creative arts education and enrichment experiences for diverse populations of youth and adult learners.
History
The Shell Lake Arts Center has been providing the best in education and learning environment for students for over 35 years. Some of our programs are the longest-running programs of their kind in the United States. The location in beautiful northwestern Wisconsin is inspiring and revitalizing.
The Arts Center provides a positive learning environment in a safe and secure location. In addition, the faculty and staff are dedicated to providing the best possible environment for students to develop their talents. The teacher-student ratio is low, and the faculty is nationally respected. In spite of these advantages, the tuition prices are very competitive.
The Shell Lake Arts Center opened in 1968 as the "Indianhead Arts & Education Center." It was endorsed and supported by the University of Wisconsin system and worked in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education through summer 2004. Now known by its current name, the Center operates as an independent non-profit organization run by a Board of Directors and staff. Plans are being made to expand programs even more as we move into the future.
